Weight Loss Scams

Scams and programs that promise fast and easy fat loss are swindling consumers who are desperate to lose weight, at least that's what Canada's top medical journal says.

In an article published in the The Canadian Medical Association Journal, it states that most commercial weight-loss providers are manipulating vulnerable people with unrealistic and "fantastical" claims that promise quick, easy and long-lasting results.

Anybody who has ever googled the term "weight loss" knows that this is very true.

It is easy to find claims like "Lose 40 pounds in 4 weeks" and "Burn fat without diet or exercise"

The truth is, losing weight takes a combination of diet and exercise, but this combination only works when it comes with a true lifestyle modification.

Simply put, to lose weight and keep it off we need to learn how to eat less AND enjoy eating less, and we need to learn how to successfully incorporate working out (or any activity) into our lifestyles.

This means finding a way to cut calories while still allowing yourself to eat the foods you love..even the treats..as long as they are in moderation.

And this also means finding ways to stay active..which doesn't HAVE to include laboring away in a commercial gym (any activity will do - as long as you enjoy it)

No pill or exercise program will make you lose weight if it is not accompanied by a solid weight loss diet program that you can follow long term.

Bottom line: without the right diet, weight loss simply does not occur.

Any pill or workout that promises fast or instant fat loss without dieting instantly falls into the category of 'weight loss scam'.

On the same level, any diet program that doesn't include some form of calorie restriction also falls into the category of 'weight loss scam'.

Sensible weight loss programs like Eat Stop Eat combine creative ways to eat less with working out, and allow you to decrease your calorie intake while still enjoying the foods you like eating.

These are examples of true lifestyle modifications that lead to long term weight loss solutions WITHOUT false expectations and exaggerated weight loss claims.
